Nearly 1,000 atomic bomb tests were detonated in the Nevada Test Site in the Nevada Desert from 1951 until 1992. Many of the test were conducted at night resulting in a 'premature dawn' seen in these pictures taken on various dates. Some casinos also hosted “dawn parties” encouraging visitors to view the tests.
